Look what made its way to the internet! A Red-Band trailer for David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I might as well be wearing a big red suit and a long white beard.

Stieg Larson’s novel is the first in a best-selling trilogy and has already been successfully adapted once by Swedish filmmaker Niels Arden Oplev. Fincher’s adaptation has been peaking everyone’s interest since word dropped about the project in early-2010. This trailer will be offically released sometime next week and we’ll put the full-quality version up then. Let us know your thoughts on the trailer, the Swedish films, and the book (if you’re the reading type)!

Don’t much care about the film, but that was one AMAZING trailer. Whoever cut that together – the quick edits, the large words, the music – deserves a raise. Grabbed me from frame one. Awesome awesomeness.
In regards to DRAGON TATTOO, still not impressed with Mara as the titular GIRL, but hopefully a more content-based trailer will show off her performance as Lisbeth.

I gotta say that this tripped my excitement but I noticed a lot of it looked shot for shot the same as the Swedish version.
Props for posting this so quick, Scotty!
I am torn. I love the original version. It will be hard not compare the performances.
This trailer is pretty amazing. I’m sure the movie will be great, even though I love the original to bits.
I know Rooney Mara will have a tough time living up to Noomi Rapace’s amazing performances, but I think that she’ll blow everyone out of the water. Well, I hope so, anyway.
Personally I did not like the Swedish films. Many things cut out and other things modified. I do agree that Rapaces’ performance was outstanding the movies didn’t live up to how great the books were
Am I the only one underwhelmed by Rapace’s acting?

Well, when you consider how lauded the performances were, I see where you’re coming from. I think the better way to put it is that she embodied the character from the books just about perfectly. But there really wasn’t all that much asked of Rapace, acting-wise.
You put that a lot better than I did. She doesn’t have much to do, she does it well, but it isn’t much.
This is, like, the kind of trailer you punch in the face on a drunken bet with your friends the night before. You can’t back out now, but you know, guy, you know you’re gonna get fucking murdered.

Nice pull, Scotty! Pretty sweet trailer, though I almost groaned at first with the Immigrant Song usage (though I ended up liking it). It’s cut to shit, but I mean that in a good way – they show you a ton, but it’s so fast that you don’t feel like you’ve seen the whole thing (even if you already have – twice).
Is is just me, or did this trailer suck? @Dylan, your first inclination was crorrect…the music was lame, the cuts were too fast, and you barely get to see any of rooney…disappointment…but i’ll still see it
