TRAILER TITILLATION: THE WOMAN IN BLACK, DANIEL RADCLIFFE’S FIRST POST-POTTER ROLE

by

A new trailer for The Woman in Black premiered over at Yahoo! Movies yesterday and it features Daniel Radcliffe, Radcliffe’s sweet sideburns, toy monkeys, and a rhyme about the woman in question. Sounds like all sorts of sexy, doesn’t it? Check it out below.

Here’s the official and straight to the point plot:

While taking care of a deceased client’s estate, a young lawyer encounters a mysterious woman dressed in black and uncovers a tragic secret.

I’ll definitely say this, the new trailer for The Woman in Black does a much better job at showing its creepy potential than the 48 second one that popped up earlier this year. Its good a creepy vibe I dig, and I love the period setting. It’s also worthwhile to note that the film was produced by Hammer Films, the recently resurrected company that was responsible for all the old Christopher Lee Dracula films you probably caught on TV at one point or another. That’s a good horror pedigree right there, helping to forget the fact that CBS Films is handling American distribution (their other releases include Beastly and The Back-Up Plan, so they’ve been poisonous so far). I’ve never watched the Harry Potter flicks so I’m pumped to see Radcliffe branch out and do something I actually want to see; I just hope Potter fans will accept him as anyone else but the Boy Wizard. He deserves better than typecasting.

The Woman in Black opens everywhere February 3, 2012.
