I guess it’s Summer Movie Trailer week…

After getting some exciting Super Bowl spots on Sunday from The Avengers, Battleship, and more PLUS the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man yesterday, we have been blessed today with the first look at Jeremy Renner taking the reins from Matt Damon in The Bourne Legacy. Check out the good stuff below:

I gotta admit that I had looked very little into the developments of this movie. I think the Bourne series is very strong, highly underrated, and needing very little of advancement. I didn’t think adding onto the series with a new actor was a particularly good idea and most of that is because I always thought that Matt Damon was like a Streisand, but I think he rocks the shit in those ones (40-Year-Old Virgin!)…

But I was way wrong.

I really dig the angle they’re taking with this one. “Bourne was just the tip of the iceberg” is about as simple as dialogue has to be to make you forget what has happened before without removing those memories from your database. It’s all about Renner and his character and that’s all that matters. BUT, we get glimpses of past characters who will be appearing in the new film (including Albert Finney, Joan Allen, and the amazing David Strathairn) which makes me even more optimistic! And then we get the best shot of all: Edward Norton. That’s it. I’m in. You got my money right there…

I don’t think I’ve seen a trailer that raised my excitement level this much in quite awhile. My viewing expectancy on this was not very high. Now it’s an absolute certainty. Job well done, trailer.
