FIRST TRAILER FOR THE HOST HITS THE WEB

The first trailer for the next Stephanie Meyer novel-t0-film adaptation The Host has hit the web today courtesy of Yahoo! Movies.  You can check it out HERE, we’ll embed a full link here when it goes up later.

For those not in the know The Host takes place during a time on Earth when it has been invaded by aliens looking to become hosts of Humans, in control of their minds but their bodies intact.  Sounds freaky.

You can see previous information we’ve posted about The Host here.  The film is directed by Andrew Niccol of Gattaca fame and stars Saorise Ronan (Hanna, The Lovely Bones), Max Irons (Red Riding Hood), Jake Abel (I Am Number Four), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds, Unknown), William Hurt (Into the Wild) and Frances Fisher (Titanic).  It hits theaters in about a year on March 29, 2013.

In this writer’s opinion, this preview gets hardly a “meh” from me.  It’s a teaser all right, featuring now real footage from the finished film and basically seems to focus only on people who are obviously held captive by the aliens having white  glowing rings around the iris’ of their eyes.  Kudos on putting that into the “O” in the title of the film too, what marketing team is behind this brilliant feature?  Personally I could care less about what this will look like in the end, but if anyone is interested feel free to chime in…
