Even though it’s still two years away, the Summer of 2014 is already shaping up to be quite fantastic.
The first I’ll mention is the sequel to the excellent reboot, X-Men: First Class. July 18 is the date that Matthew Vaughn will be bringing his touch back to the X-Men universe. They will undoubtedly be working around the busy schedules of Jennifer Lawrence, who will be working on the Hunger Games sequel soon, and Michael Fassbender, who should appear in as many movies as possible in my opinion.
The second announcement has to do with the sequel to last year’s surprise hit, Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Memorial Day weekend (May 23) is the date that has been selected for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Director (first-timer Rupert Wyatt) and producers remain the same, and Andy Serkis will assuredly be back to motion capture the shit out of the apes, but it remains to be seen if James Franco will come back for further monkeying around.
I know I’m stoked for both of these sequels (moreso for the X-Men one)… how about you?!?!

Definitely excited about both of these. Though, please tell me they’re getting rid of Stone Cold January Jones in X-Men.

Cool. Cool, cool, cool. I know I’d rather see Vaughn on Second Class than Kick-Ass 2, so good news.
