And let my interest in yet another remake begin….
The 2013 reboot of the Robocop franchise already has some casting done. They have their title character (it’s Joel Kinnaman, one of the stars of AMC’s “The Killing”) and they have two supporting characters (guys you might have heard of named Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson) as well. But they need a villain. And director Jose Padilha has a great idea on who that should be.
Rumors are swirling right now that Hugh Laurie, now relieved of duties at Princeton Plainsboro Hospital since “House” just ended it’s run last month, is negotiating for the villainous role of the “evil and ultra-rich CEO of Omnicorp, the company that makes Robocop.”
I’m in.
Laurie was amazing on “House” (I watched religiously for about five of it’s eight seasons) and as far as I’m concerned, let’s start putting him in movies. Big movies. In big roles.
How does this rub you? Did you even read what I had to say after I mentioned Oldman and Samuel L?

The casting so far and the director are all very exciting. This remake is shaping up so damn well, it’s hard to stay angry with the producers.
