Recently, I gave you the first poster for the upcoming remake of Dredd. Well, today I give you the first trailer! Aren’t I just the best?
This looks pretty awesome, I gotta say. I love that Lena Headey is the villain here and Karl Urban looks ultra bad-ass as the title character. I’ve read that he has said that you won’t be seeing him without the helmet on, unlike the Sly-starring original where Stallone was all over the place (or at least his face). This just adds to his coolness and I can definitely see myself catching this one in the theater.

There is a Raid Redemption feel to it but they are very different films.

I would have never thought it (and haven’t seen the Stallone one), but I think I’m in. It looks to be a visual spectacle with an interesting and different take on the future, so that’s got me hooked already. On top of that, I’ve always been an Urban fan – I’m actually a bit disappointed with the helmet thing even though it is a pretty badass thing to do.

Yeah, why even cast Urban to stick him in a helmet the whole time? Cast a young struggling actor!
