Or whatever the sequel would be called.
The follow-up to the 1994 comedy was going to be filming in September with both Carrey and Jeff Daniels reprising their respective roles. However, according to sources, Carrey was growing increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the projects.
The same sources (you can find this story at ComingSoon) say that when they reached out to Carrey’s publicist, the quote provided was “I would have thought Dumb and Dumber 2 was a no-brainer, after all it’s implied in the title.”
As much as I wouldn’t mind seeing Lloyd and Harry back on the big screen (and only in the form of Carrey and Daniels) I’m not exactly heart-broken by this news. I think that they should definitely can the project though. No Carrey, no sequel. Don’t try to duplicate that chemistry. We’ve seen (well, maybe some of us) what happens when they try to duplicate that chemistry.

Shame. Thought this was a go-er!
