Eleven years ago, Pixar released its fourth feature, Monsters, Inc. It was met with rave reviews (a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes with the qualifier “Even though Monsters, Inc lacks the sophistication of the Toy Story series, it is a still delight for children of all ages.”) and scored the fifth highest box office total in Pixar’s history (not at the time, of course, that would be impossible – it was the highest grossing film they made up to that point).
And after Cars 2 disappointed (38% on Rotten Tomatoes and the lowest box office since A Bug’s Life) and Brave looks, well, meh, it’s not surprising that we’d get a teaser for next summer’s sequel, Monster’s University. It’s a prequel to the original and Pixar is hoping that dipping a toe in the nostalgic waters will result in some good product.
Here’s hoping they’re right…
It’s hard to gain a lot from a teaser but this proves to be more-of-the-same. The first was funny and heartwarming and I’m sure this one will be too. But I guess we will just have to wait and see…

Just hope it doesn’t turn into a string of typical college film type jokes.

If this is going to be half as good as Monster, Inc. … I can’t wait for it!
