Hey, do you remember Milla Jovovich? Well, if you don’t, that’s okay. She’s this actress who only appears in these video game adaptations that are fairly well received and do a decent amount of business at the box office. Oh, and now there’s FIVE of them!!!

I haven’t seen any of these CGI-fests and while I feel slightly bad about this, I.. wait, no, actually I don’t really feel bad about it. They all look exciting in some ways and preposterous in others. They look like fun if that’s your definition of fun. And damn, if that first scene of the trailer isn’t fantastic! But after that, it’s more of the same ol’ same ol’.

The Resident Evil movies are a huge guilty pleasure of mine. None of them (except the first one, which I think is decently solid) are any good, but I enjoy them all far more than I should. My girlcrush on Milla is the source of most of that…she’s pretty memorable for me! This one looks a lot like the last one, especially the white block areas and Milla’s costuming. Not sure I care for that, as all the other films, as mediocre as they are, are at least distinct in design and costuming.
For some reason I keep going back to these, and I always end up leaving disappointed. I just can’t help myself. And yet again, this one doesn’t look too bad… for now. I like how they got the older characters back in. I was wondering how they were planning on doing that.

It looks a whole lot like someone involved in the film finally watched Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake.
