TATUM TO BECOME EVIL

by

Evel Knievel, that is.

The Hollywood Reporter is, well, reporting that Channing Tatum is in negotiations to star in and produce a film about daredevil Evel Knievel for Columbia Pictures.

Tatum would produce the film with his Iron Horse Entertainment partner Reid Carolin, who will also write the film’s screenplay.

Born Robert Craig Knievel, the most famous thrill-seeker ever attempted over 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps between 1965 and 1980, and in 1974, a failed jump across Snake River Canyon in the Skycycle X-2, a steam-powered rocket. The 433 broken bones he suffered during his career earned him an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records as the survivor of “most bones broken in a lifetime”. He was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999.

Knievel died of pulmonary disease in 2007 at the age of 69.

The box office champ of 2012 (find me someone else who is having this good of a year…) as Knievel? Count me in.

But what about you?

  • Count me in, too. Tatum’s really turned me around on his star this year, and frankly I’m invested in watching him star in basically whatever from here on out.
