He is definitely back.
In what might be one of the cooler posters I’ve seen in awhile, we see the starring return of Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Last Stand, due out on January 18 of next year. Just check it out below:
This is a really cool look. I didn’t know much about the film, other than Arnold’s involvement and that Zach Gilford was co-starring (Matt Saracen from “Friday Night Lights”).
The films stars the big man, Gilford, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzman, Johnny Knoxville, and Peter Stormare, among others.
The plot synopsis is pretty lengthy, but here it is:
Schwarzenegger stars as Sheriff Owens, a man who has resigned himself to a life of fighting what little crime takes place in sleepy border town Sommerton Junction after leaving his LAPD post following a bungled operation that left him wracked with failure and defeat after his partner was crippled. After a spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy, the most notorious, wanted drug kingpin in the hemisphere is hurtling toward the border at 200 mph in a specially outfitted car with a hostage and a fierce army of gang members. He is headed, it turns out, straight for Summerton Junction, where the whole of the U.S. law enforcement will have their last opportunity to make a stand and intercept him before he slips across the border forever. At first reluctant to become involved, and then counted out because of the perceived ineptitude of his small town force, Owens ultimately accepts responsibility for one of the most daring face offs in cinema history.
I’m in.
What do you have to say?

Great find. Hadn’t heard of this yet. From the poster I figured out that Forest Whitaker was in it. The guy next to him stumped me. I thought to myself it looked a lot like young Chevy Chase. It turned out to be Peter Stormare who is an all time favorite of mine. Also, I fell in love with Jaime Alexander when she was on Kyle XY. I always thought she had the look and talent to be a star, looks like she’s headed that way.
I don’t hate Arnold, but don’t love him in movies either. It looks like the premise coupled with the actors I’ve mentioned will make it worthwhile though. Thanks for bringing this to folks’ attention.
I love the design of this poster. Arnold kinda looks like Yul Brynner in Westworld there.
