Not to be confused with Andy Samberg’s digital short-infused band (that’s Lonely Island), the trailer for a new film starring Gael Garcia Bernal called The Loneliest Planet has hit the internet. A film festival favorite (and boy does the trailer let you know that!), the film looks like a creepy good time. Check it out below:

The obscurity and the confusion in the trailer serves the film very well, in my opinion. There are some similarities visually to Danny Boyle’s gripping 127 Hours in that we are treated to landscape shots revealing solitude and sometimes, that can be just as frightening as it is breathtaking. Is this a horror film, a thriller, a romantic drama? I guess we will just have to wait and see. Until then, we are left with a haunting trailer that left me feeling very curious about what would happen next.
