Formerly titled Cogan’s Trade, the new Brad Pitt film Killing Them Softly presented its first trailer online yesterday. Horrible name change aside (Pitt’s character is named Jackie Cogan), this first look gives us a peek at what could be this year’s Drive (although as someone who wasn’t the largest fan of the moody Gosling flick, I’m hoping for an improvement)! Check it out below

It’s great to see Brad Pitt in this type of role. I hold to it that he’s not the greatest actor out there, he just has incredible charisma and impresses regardless of the movie he is in (exceptions include 12 Monkeys, which he is amazing in). It’s also good to see the likes of Ray Liotta and James Gandolfini gracing the big screen again. And Richard Jenkins is always a winner as far as I’m concerned. Director Andrew Dominik has 2007s Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford under his belt and… nothing else. It’ll be interesting to see if this was worth the 5 years it took to make!

What are your thoughts? I know our founder Dylan hates the name change… and did we really need to hear Pitt say he likes ‘killing them slowly” in the trailer? We get it, guys…
