RED DAWN TRAILER DEBUTS

by

OK, I promise that this will be the last post this week about Red Dawn, the remake of the 1980s film of the same name. And this is the big one, the first trailer. Check it out below:

Meh.

It looks decent enough, but do we really NEED this film? I say no. I think they’re banking on the bankability of both Hemsworth (Thor-less, though) and Hutcherson (minus Katniss, though) a little bit too much and I’m not so sure that this is going to work with audiences. HOWEVER, I guess I shouldn’t underestimate the appeal to the tweens out there who will eat up the kids-fight-back idea of the film, so maybe it does well.

But it won’t be money they get…

♥♥

Am I wrong? What do you feel after seeing this trailer? Is it unnecessary as I feel it is?

  • Fuck this.

Sorry, this looks pointless and bad. I’m baffled at the instinct studios have to remake old, shitty cheesefests like Red Dawn and totally strip them of the tongue-in-cheek camp that makes them work as delightful trash. This doesn’t work when played straight.

  • Well, that’s just awful. Not even the combined might of Chris Hemsworth’s biceps could get me to see this film.
