CLOONEY LOCKS UP STRONG CAST FOR HIS NEXT FILM

by

George Clooney has directed four movies:

Confessions of a Dangerous Mind

Good Night, and Good Luck

Leatherheads

The Ides of March

Three out of four of those (you can guess which is the odd man out) has at least a 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. Clooney is considered a huge name when it comes to acting, obviously, but his directing name is starting to grow as well. Because of his prowess, he has locked up an insane cast for his next directorial effort, The Monuments Men.

Clooney is directing and starring (as he has in all four of those others) alongside of Daniel Craig, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin (Jean-Jean!), and John Goodman.

The Monuments Men is being adapted by Clooney and his long-time partner Grant Heslov from Robert M. Edsel’s book “The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves, and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History.” The drama takes place during the final days of Nazi Germany as Adolf Hitler and the Nazis try to cover their tracks by destroying all the artwork they had stolen during their rise to power, as a group of art historians and museum curators try to rescue those works of art.

I don’t know anything about the book, but it doesn’t excite me THAT much. That cast alone though will make it interesting, especially Craig, who it will be fun to see play something that’s not James Bond, because since he’s been 007, he hasn’t had a whole lot of luck.
