So, I’m sure you immediately took notice of the name at the top of that poster… well when you watch this trailer, just remember that they don’t mention “he who shall not be named” even once. You could say the marketing department for this film knows what they’re doing. Kind of…
A couple things:
1) The Father/Son real-life acting thing is… not that exciting. I mean, I get the draw. I do. But Pursuit of Happyness was just okay and even though I enjoyed Jaden’s performance in The Karate Kid remake, this just makes me think of one thing: coattails. I guess we’ll find out if they have the chemistry that should be expected from the acting duo.
2) The premise is decent enough, but the Shyamalan stink is so strong that it’s hard to imagine paying anything to see this.
3) HOW DOES WILL SMITH’S CHARACTER SURVIVE THAT PLANE CRASH?!?!?!?!
Anyway, I can tell they’re being ambitious here and good on ’em for that, but it didn’t do anything for me and I doubt it will do much for many out there. Hey Big Willie, your box office clout is going to be tested here.
