You may know of Pontius Pilate, the 1st century Roman leader who authorized the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. And if you don’t, well, you might be getting a history lesson about him in the form of Brad Pitt.
The screenplay for the film, written by Vera Blasi, is said to offer a human look at the Roman figure and, according to Blasi, is primarily based in historical fact (well, that’s a relief!), detailing Pilate’s life up until that order he just never did live down.
Meh.
For one, I don’t know we really need to tell this story. For two… Brad Pitt? Look, I enjoy Pitt but you’re telling me that we can’t find a more Roman-leader-looking gentleman out there?
Maybe this works out… but let’s be realistic. This isn’t making Passion of the Christ coin, ok? Ok.
