X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST TURNING INTO A REUNION

by

Professor X and Magneto

Last month we found out that not only would Hugh Jackman be showing up in the next installment of the X-Men series, Days of Future Past, but also Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, as the time traveling storyline will be causing us to need both their young versions and their old versions.

Cool.

Well now we have three more alumni from the original trilogy joining the new cast as over the weekend, Bryan Singer announced that Shawn Ashmore (Iceman), Anna Paquin (Rogue), and Ellen Page (Shadowcat) would all be returning to their roles. This also comes a few days after January Jones has been reported as saying she WON’T be in the next film, so either they’re getting rid of Emma Frost or they’re recasting it, which really, either way, I’m fine with. She was definitely not the highlight of that movie. She was, in fact, the worst part of that movie.

I loved First Class and thought it was highly entertaining to see a new take on these characters that we’ve already seen three movies about. James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were both tremendous in taking on such iconic role and I hope by integrating the original actors into this film that Singer hasn’t put too much on his plate with this.

So the only question is… who’s next? James Marsden? Alan Cumming? Dare I say… Halle Berry? (Oh god no! Not Halle Berry!!!)

X-Men: Days of Future Past is set for a June 2014 release.
