Yes, this got three exclamation points. I’m that pumped!
Vin Diesel is back with the character that really brought him to the forefront of action hero central. Riddick is an R-rated sequel to Pitch Black that appears to rid all of the bad taste of The Chronicles of Riddick out of our mouths. Check out the bad-ass 23 seconds of footage below:
The film has a September 6th release and it’s up there on my list for 2013. I’m a big fan of Pitch Black and was totally bummed out by how unexciting Chronicles was. But what makes me even more excited for this is the addition of Karl Urban to the cast. Dude is just plain cool! Plus… c’mon… did you see that teaser?!?!
I’m in. Are you?
(Here’s the synopsis, in case you needed more reason to check this out when it hits theaters:
Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty. The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.)
