On the heels of Thursday’s huge announcement of Ben Affleck being cast as Batman in the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel, it appears that the villain we all knew was coming is about to get a huge dose of awesome added to it.
Bryan Cranston, currently most famous for playing the lead character on AMC’s “Breaking Bad” (and winning every Emmy he is up for) is apparently set up to play the always-present Lex Luthor, signing for at least six films and up to as many as ten if Warner Brothers is as successful as they hope to be.
This is more fantastic news for the new series, as getting reputable names to throw their hats into the superhero ring is a big get for WB and Zack Snyder. I know that Cranston had mentioned interest in the role a couple weeks ago, but it now does appear, according to multiple sources, that he is in fact signing up to play Superman’s nemesis.
As much as their was outcry over Affleck’s casting, I am willing to bet there won’t be a whole lot of negativity on this one. I think this will be universally accepted as a strong choice and I, along with the rest of you, look forward to what Walter White brings to the table.
What say you? Intrigued?
The film hits theaters July 17, 2015.
