Am I crazy or does John sound a whole hell of a lot like Phobos?

Good to hear that Major League is a solid movie, that a lot of people think is of high quality, that’s ok to cry in……

Kai, I can’t believe you don’t like baseball, is that allowed in America? people have been sent to Guantanamo Bay for less! But having said that I’m English and hate cricket! That could be an answer for your question, as much as I don’t like cricket, it could work as a movie.
We have discussed baseball movies in the past and like you, I really liked For Love of the Game, but for me it is the weakest of Costner’s three. I am pleased to report I have now seen The Sandlot and loved it. All three of you picked great movies but I stand by my top five as published last year:
5: Major League
4: Eight Men Out
3: The Natural
2: Field of Dreams
1: Bull Durham
Love your sort-of recommendation for kill list, now you know why I was having so much trouble talking about it. That shit is fucked up!
Having seen Kill List now, I give it a full recommendation. I loved the hell out of that movie. Oi oi! You lucky people (who haven’t seen it yet)

Football is America’s game, Andy. Baseball is the National Pastime… as in, past it’s time.
Yeah, I completely understand now. That movie is insane. I’m inclined to say I really liked it but that movie is crazy. Truth is, I have no idea how I feel.

Sorry Kai, I lost interest in (what you call) football about ten years ago. I only had a passing interest in baseball until I went to a game on holiday in America.

I’ll throw down for Kill List, too. It might make my year-end “best of” list. It’s that good.

It just missed out on a place in my top ten last year to Stake Land.
Sure it’s acceptable to hate baseball! I actually hate most sports–particularly football and baseball. I’m just bored by most others.

Just listened to this show, and it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed how the new segment on getting serious still ended up a lot like Kai’s always right.
It was great to hear my fellow St. Louis blogger John on there. Represent! I’m more in line with him on my top three baseball films, though I liked a lot of the picks. Here’s mine:
3. 61*
2. Field of Dreams
1. Eight Men Out
